The Bristol Beaufort Mk.I was a British twin-engine torpedo bomber developed in the late 1930s for the Royal Air Force. Designed primarily for maritime strike operations, it was capable of carrying a torpedo or conventional bomb load.
The Beaufort entered RAF service in 1940 and was widely used in anti-shipping missions and coastal operations during the early years of the Second World War. The aircraft also served with several Commonwealth air forces.
The Bristol Beaufort Mk.I was produced from 1939 and operated throughout the early years of World War II.
